Born from the same womb, swirling together through life, sharing the pains and joys of growing, true confidants of every fleeting moment.
While I reflected on the feelings evoked by this image, it quickly became quite clear I did not need to elaborate too much on why this peculiar tree was so captivating. Appearing as an opposing element to the static and heavy foreground rock, this hypnotizing tree was clearly a beautiful natural metaphor to me, revealing how unique living beings coming from the same ground and roots can share their whole life “dancing” as truly close entities. Who wouldn’t want to achieve such state of existence?
Location: Peninha Forest, Sintra (Portugal)
Technical info: my first experience with the incredible Venus Laowa 10-18mm f4, kindly sent to me by Venus Optics. I haven´t received the dedicated Nisi holder yet for it, so shooting a forestscape would be the only option to start using it. I´m used to ultra-wide lenses, but this one is ultra-uber-wide at 10mm (full frame), opening up many new interesting composition possibilities. Even with the Laowa 12mm I always felt this composition was a bit tight, as including both the mossy foreground rock and the exquisite tree was quite difficult, but fortunately the 10-18mm made it look easy.
