When the hand of Men sows the Earth and unconsciously creates incredibly fleeting visual treasures, it magically fills the souls of those who contemplate these moments.
Nature holds its most majestic beauties for those who tirelessly seek them.
This was my first published photo of the Lavender Fields in Brihuega, after a one week photo-trip to this spot during July. Selecting the first image was not easy, as I ended up feeling helplessly attracted to an image which is unusual for my portfolio, where my composition excluded the clouds in the sky, trying to exclusively focus on the intense golden light bathing the horizon.
I decided to spend several days in the lavender fields, as I am against quick stops in places which deserve full mental and physical immersion, so they can be properly appreciated and explored. The lavender flowers reach its color peak in an extremely short space of time, and it is quite complex to conciliate the sunrise and sunset positioning with the lavender fields direction, the trees in them, weather conditions, intense heat, clouds, people in the framing, thousands of bees, and so many other things.
Despite these obstacles to photo creation, these are always remarkable days where time runs slow but is never boring, where the body re-synchronizes itself with the cadence of the elements, going back to a primordial way of working, fully aware to the deep and undeniable connection we have to the Earth.
And the cherry on top of all this: the unforgettable and intense smell of lavender in the air.
